Weird for me, definitely. But *hopefully* I can translate that and make this wonderfully weird for EVERYONE, as well.

I am not a facebook, twitter, instagram...you get the idea, person. Though close, I am not a digital moron despite what my son Matthew says. However, I am a responder. Every time I receive a digital communication I reply. Unlike you, I like conflict. Nothing crazy and I draw the line this side of violence, but debate, argument and the passionate expression of one's views seem to be lost in today's politically charged environment of correctness and wokeness. Interestingly, it seems the only time people feel comfortable expressing themselves is on social/digital media. Apparently, hiding behind digital camouflauge brings out people's inner thoughts and feelings more so than actually speaking face to face. My point is if participating in your newsletter (sorry if that's not what you call it) requires social media it's probably not for me. On the other hand, I have been a fan of your writing, food critiques for many years as a N-P subscriber and self anointed foodie. My food journey included being raised in a family business (Carvel ice cream store), working my way through college as a line cook and bartender for Steak and Ale, logging over 20 years in the restaurant business as a kitchen rat, bartender, server, manager and owner. Suffice to say, I've done it all in the food biz. I moved on to sales, investments advisory and ultimately following a doctorate in marketing as a college professor. Food, baseball, gardening and people, with a splash of marketing (psychology and economics) are my passions. I love commercials. Truth be told I have always wanted to know you better. I am a friend and long time admirer of Molly Grubbs. Perhaps my most favorite human. I find it scintillating that I have your eyeballs captive even for just a few brief moments. So please, weird me out.
