Oh my gosh, my first Gannett furlough was SIX weeks in 2009. I was literally feral by the time I came back. The second week, I ran off to various parts of Florida with a friend of Amy's and forgot to tell anyone where I was going. The last four weeks I spent housesitting for different friends, all with different yummy things in their fridges and pantries. What you said about writing community is so true -- a friend and I teamed up to write a gothic together during the pandemmy -- we abandoned the project but are still critique and plotting partners.
Can’t wait for your book to come out.
Ooh, Grubstreet alone has so many great online classes. Thanks for sharing, Annabelle!
Yessss! And some great scholarship opportunities

Yuuuup! I recall the 2009 furloughs all too well :/ And yes! That bit of community is so essential!
I need to make it to Sage 😭. It’s been on the list for awhile but now that it’s Annabelle approved, I must.
Can’t wait for your book. I adore hearing about your process. You inspire me.
